Sky IT Group's "SkyConfigtest" Web Configuration Testing Hosted Services integrated with Mercury Interactive's Test Management Software

Saddlebrook, NJ - March 04, 2003 - Sky IT Group a leading provider of QA services, today introduced a fast and cost effective way to allow organizations to test their Web applications on over 7,000 possible different configurations of operating systems, browsers, screen resolutions and other unique characteristics.

"SkyConfigTest" will test any Web application using each configuration that has been selected by the client. Once the test is complete, clients will be able to view the results through the "SkyViewer". The result is a display of thumbnails of their Web pages under the configuration combinations that they have selected. Areas of deficiencies are highlighted and logged in Mercury Interactive's global test management software, TestDirector®. The "SkyViewer" also allows a slide show presentation of each page under different configuration and/or all the pages under one specific configuration.

Features and Benefits

"SkyConfigTest" is a very cost effective way to verify Web content across the entire Internet spectrum. The testing is performed at Sky's lab and therefore there are no additional costs required to purchase equipment, software licenses and to dedicate technical resources. Results through "SkyViewer" are delivered over the Web, within a few days of test commencement date, where images can be viewed in thumbnails, actual size and/or in a slide presentation mode. Highlighted deficiencies are automatically linked to the defect-tracking module within TestDirector to ensure proper corrective action.

"Companies are searching for ways to cut costs yet maintain high standards when presenting their information on the Web. With "SkyConfigTest" we eliminate the need for organizations to purchase additional hardware, software and invest valuable time of their technical talent," says Jay Hakami, Sky IT Group's President. "'SkyConfigTest' is a unique, cost effective offering to allow companies to independently view and verify their web content."

The Process

A designated contact within an organization can simply log into http://www.skyitgroup.com/config.html enter their URL and select the configurations they would like to test. Within minutes they will receive an Email detailing the number of pages on the specified URL and the amount of configurations that were selected along with the investment required. An agreement will be sent within 24 hours to the designated contact and once signed the test will commence. Upon completion, a Login and Password will be sent to the designated contact to allow entrance into "SkyViewer" to review the results. The hosted service is priced very reasonably at $10 per thumbnail (thumbnail = 1 combination of browser/operating system/screen resolution + 1 validation point) with a minimum purchase of $5,000 (500 thumbnails).
